9-14-2007 First Light

My scope came today! After spending about 3 hours putting it together, we headed out to Sheridan Lake. We had a campsite, but visibility was obscured due to trees all around.

Tonight was very clear S-8/10 T-4/5, so the milky way was stunning. Looked at a few stars above, but mostly just got used to the mechanism and using it in the pitch black.

Tripod doesn't always set up evenly so spreader is often only on 2 legs. Was unable to use GOTO feature since there wasn't enough of a view to find the stars.

Verdict: Awesome scope, very manageable weight when only going up to 100 yard. Terrestrial viewing is very fun with this scope also, and you can see anything in perfect detail provided it isn't moving. Can't wait to actually go out and see more!
